Asirgadh Fort, Burhanpur

This fort is architect as mixture of Islamic, Turkish, Indian and Persian style. In this fort there is temple of Gupteshvar Mahadev. Localized people says that Ashwathama- a character of  Mahabharat, comes daily for worship in this temple. There is one pond in this fort, which is not dried even in summer. Ashwathama takes bath in this pond and then go for worship. Around this fort there is valley in each and every side. In this valley one hidden route from Khandavvan forest- Khandva district to this fort. Ashwathama comes through this route for worship. There is also one Masjid in this fort which is known as "Asir Masjid". This fort is a sign of unity in  Hindu and Muaslim religion. Asirgadh fort is situated 20 km from Burhanpur city of Madhypradesh state, India.
